Ordeal by Innocence season 2: Could it happen on BBC One?

Ordeal by Innocence episode 3

Following tonight’s final episode airing on BBC One, is there a good chance that we could be seeing an Ordeal by Innocence season 2 coming up?

Given that there are people out there who enjoy quality storytelling, especially some based on the work of Agatha Christie, we understand that there could be a desire for some more episodes. Unfortunately, there is no indication that this is going to happen, which shouldn’t be much of a shock to anyone given that Ordeal by Innocence is technically a miniseries. There is not really any more story that should be told here and with that, there’s no real sense of urgency to make any more of the show moving forward.

Now, as for what BBC One could choose to do here instead, that’s pretty simple — they could take another Christie work and adapt it, or find another use for some of these cast members on a new project. One of the things that we’ve come to really appreciate about the network over time is that they’ve developed a really good tendency to not let shows go on longer than they really need to. Once they’ve reached the end of one thing, they can then move forward and figure out what they want the next big thing to be. Hopefully, they are going to figure out a way to do something fairly similar here. There are obviously many different projects in the works at the network, both in terms of limited series and also stories that are a little more long-form.

So long as we know that there are going to be some more great mysteries coming up, we have a feeling that we’re going to be really happy in the end. The best thing that they can keep coming up with unique twists to the genre.
