The Originals season 5 spoilers: Hope’s search for a connection

Want to get some other insight regarding The Originals season 5? Today, we’re talking about that mostly through the vantage point of someone in Hope who is a new catalyst for the story. Time has passed, and with that she is now a teenager who has spent a substantial amount of time at Hope’s supernatural school. She’s a different person than the character played by Summer Fontana in season 4, and she’s going to have a much better understanding as to precisely who she is … but that doesn’t mean that she will have everything figured out. She’s a teenager with powers! That is a difficult thing to come to grips with, but the good news is that it seems as though she is going to get a little bit of help in trying to figure that out.

In speaking about this further in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, show executive producer Julie Plec had the following to say in terms of what’s coming and how Freya is going to be involved:

“Freya’s going to have a really important role with Hope early in the season as Freya becomes concerned … When Freya was a teenager, she didn’t have control over her own power and really bad things would happen when she got worked up. She recognizes that same jeopardy in Hope’s emotional state. Hope feels out of control, so she’s trying to help her learn how to control that.”

One of Hope’s central goals this season will be trying to find a way to get the Mikaelson family back together and with that, color us curious to see precisely how Freya factors into to everything that happens. This is not going to be an easy task — Klaus is off on a rampage somewhere whereas Elijah doesn’t even remember who he is. The aftermath of last season basically set things up so that a reunion would not be easy — as a matter of fact, it could almost be impossible.
