Could Deeks really someday opt to leave NCIS: Los Angeles in order to go open a bar down the road? Apparently, that is going to be a focus on the upcoming May 6 episode, hilariously entitled “Where Everybody Knows Your Name.” We imagine that this is probably going to be the closest that the CBS series ever gets to mimicking an episode of Cheers.
Before we do anything else, let’s go ahead and share the NCIS: Los Angeles season 9 episode 21 synopsis for some other details on what’s coming:
“Where Everybody Knows Your Name” – NCIS partners with the FBI after a Marine is murdered by a rare nerve gas. Also, Deeks shares his dream to quit law enforcement and open a bar, on NCIS: LOS ANGELES, Sunday, May 6(9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
Would Deeks opening a bar mean the end of his time on NCIS: Los Angeles? We have yet to actually hear any evidence that Eric Christian Olsen is leaving the series at the end of the season; what we wonder instead is if this is the sort of story that is being planted now in order to set up an endgame for him a little bit later down the road. Think similarly to Steve and Danny on Hawaii Five-0 with the restaurant. As we’ve seen on a few occasions in this particular show, opening up such an establishment takes a bit of time. It’s not just something that Deeks can quit and go do right away since it requires everything from money to a significant amount of time.
With all of this in mind, we’d say to deposit this story for Deeks in the back of your head for the time being. However, we wouldn’t say to worry too much about this for the time being. Worry about something if he starts to talk about leaving now and otherwise, enjoy the journey.
