Shadowhunters season 3 episode 5 preview: Alec’s fears; Clary’s mission

What lies ahead on Shadowhunters season 3 episode 5? We’re gearing up now for an installment entitled “Stronger Than Heaven” that is going to be about a wide array of different stories. We’re going to see Alec struggling with some new information about Magnus, just as we’re also going to see Jace in general struggling to determine precisely what is going on with himself. Clary is struggling for answers when it comes to Jace period, and by the end of the hour we imagine that stress for some of these characters is going to be at an all-time high. We’ve absolutely got some questions regarding how all of these stories can be resolved within a single episode.

The Shadowhunters season 3 episode 5 synopsis that CarterMatt has for you below does give you a reasonably good sense as to some of what could be coming up over the course of the hour:

Someone is out to get Simon and Jace is on the hunt to find out who it is, meanwhile Clary turns to Luke to find a way to help Jace. Alec worries about the future of his relationship after learning more about Magnus’ romantic past. (Guest starring Anna Hopkins, Chai Hansen and Lisa Berry)

Before anyone goes and sounds off any Malec alarms, we remain confident that the two are going to get through anything that they encounter when it comes to this kind of trouble. This episode is far from the first time that they have encountered an obstacle and figured out how to overcome it. These two characters are both adults who love each other deeply and with that in mind, they will do everything that they need to in order to ensure that they take on whatever sort of issue lies ahead and come out on the other side of it together.

As for Clary and Jace, their problem may be a little more long-lasting, mostly because of the fact that we’re not seeing either Magnus or Alec completely at the mercy of someone like Lilith. Jace doesn’t quite know that he is the Owl and because of that, there is really not all that much that he can actually do in order to properly help his condition. The more we dive into this season, the more that we could get answers … and a lot of it could eventually end up leading to a showdown with our central Big Bad. For now, Lilith has only met a few of the series regulars; with Jace, she is seeing him in Owl form. Meanwhile, she paid a visit to Magnus at the end of Tuesday’s episode, but the reverberations of that are not entirely clear at present. It’s certainly troublesome though, given that the last thing the Mother of Demons should have is some sort of connection to is one of the most powerful warlocks in all of New York City.
