Good Girls episode 8 preview: Is another heist on the horizon?

Good Girls episode 2

Want to know some more scoop in regards to Good Girls episode 8? If so, we should start things off by saying this: Brace yourself for what may be one of the most-entertaining episodes you’ve had a chance to see so far.

At first glance, you could consider this episode (entitled “Shutdown”) a regression. After all, some of the main characters will learn early on in the episode that their operation has been slowed down. The money is gone, Rio has backed off, and all of a sudden, Beth, Ruby, and Annie may end up having to return to their normal lives. As the preview below suggests, that’s going to be super-depressing for them. Ruby in particular finds herself in a position that feels even below Walter White working at the car wash on Breaking Bad where you have to say the same hokey lines to every single customer who approaches you – with a smile of course.

Yet, this isn’t a show that is going to feature these three women stuck in these jobs forever. Something is going to come that helps to turn the tide…

Take a look at the Good Girls episode 8 synopsis that CarterMatt has for you below for a little more news on the story ahead:

“Rio’s (Manny Montana) feeling the heat from the FBI investigation, so he abruptly shuts down operations, cutting off Beth (Christina Hendricks), Ruby (Retta), and Annie’s (Mae Whitman) money supply. Their attempt to go back to being ordinary housewives is short-lived when Mary Pat (guest star Allison Tolman) puts the financial squeeze on them — forcing the three women to commit another heist.”

The latest ratings

This is something we like to point out in these weekly preview articles and, for now, there is still some good news that is worth celebrating. Last week’s new episode of Good Girls ended up drawing in total a 0.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic, which is even with the rating the week before. While that is a decline from the first few episodes of the season, we do think that’s a performance good enough to give the show a chance at another season.

In general, it still feels too early for us to be able to render a verdict on the future of Good Girls — instead, that’s probably something that we’ll be able to do when we get around to early May, prior to the start of upfronts.
