Homeland season 7 episode 10 preview: Carrie, meet ‘Clarity’

Homeland season 7 episode 10 is airing on Showtime in one week’s time, and at the moment it does feel as though the writers have a perfect title in “Clarity.” Carrie has spent most of the season trying to seek justice, but she’s getting to the point now where there are multiple different sides pulling at her. It’s been pretty clear for a while now that she is struggling with some instability; having this sort of pressure upon her certainly isn’t helping anything.

The best thing that Carrie can do (and the best thing that the series can do at this point) is figure out a way to chart a proper course towards a conclusion. Give us a sense of what the ending could be and, with that in mind, build more towards what it will be. Her actions could also end up impacting Saul and some others.

The Homeland season 7 episode 10 synopsis that CarterMatt has for you below offers up some other insight when it comes to what lies ahead — it’s not much given that Showtime isn’t the sort of network who likes to reveal all that much in advance, but we will take what we can get:

Carrie needs to choose a side. Keane needs an ally. Saul has an idea.

The part of the series that is the most intriguing to us at the moment is that of Keane, largely because of what she’s going through in conjunction with some of her own culpability in it. What the Homeland writers have done so effectively at present is show just how lonely a job it can be trying to run the country. If you don’t choose your friends and allies closely, this can be a cold, isolating experience where criticism swirls around you and you have no real way in which to determine your legacy. History often makes the decision to dictate it for you.
