The Originals season 5 premiere spoilers: Hope’s desperation; Klaus’ rampage

The Originals season 5 premiere is coming onto The CW on Wednesday, April 18, and judging from some of the first details, this final season is kicking things off in as dramatic a fashion as possible. The Mikaelson family will be starting off this chapter of the story apart, but there are going to be members within the ranks that are desperate to bring everyone back together. As a matter of fact, they are going to be so desperate that they are willing to make a move that has some other potential consequences to it.

With this in mind, we now point ever so slightly towards the character of Hope, who is going to be at least in part a focal point of this upcoming episode of the show. The synopsis that CarterMatt has for you below indicates that she is going to do everything in her power to bring Klaus back into her world:

THE BEGINNING OF THE END – Desperate to see her father Klaus (Joseph Morgan) after seven years, Hope (Danielle Rose Russell) resorts to drastic measures to bring her father back to New Orleans. Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) attempts to minimize the fallout from Hope’s actions, but not before news of what she’s done ripples through the city. Meanwhile, Freya’s (Riley Voelkel) guilt over not being able to reunite her family gets in the way of her happiness with Keelin (guest star Christina Moses), while Rebekah (guest star Claire Holt) struggles with her inability to fully commit to Marcel (Charles Michael Davis). Finally, struggling without Elijah (Daniel Gillies) by his side, Klaus’ murderous rampage throughout Europe leads to an unexpected encounter with Caroline Forbes (guest star Candice King). Yusuf Gatewood and Steven Krueger also star. Lance Anderson directed the episode written by Marguerite MacIntyre (#501). Original airdate 4/18/2018.

After reading all of this, it seems pretty obvious that The Originals is going all out to create some drama in the final season. How else can you possibly describe a premiere that features so many familiar faces, the return of Caroline, and Hope wasting no time trying to see if there’s a good way in which she can bring her father back into her world? This will be eventful, and it also seems as though it is setting the table for whatever larger threats are coming. One of the more interesting things about this season is that for everything that we do know at the moment about it, it’s also not altogether clear just what the central villain or story is going to be beyond just getting the first family of vampires back together.
