Lucifer season 3 episode 21 preview: Lucifer’s coming close to a confession…
For anyone who loves seeing Lucifer Morningstar and much of the LAPD in unusual situations, there’s a lot to like about Lucifer season 3 episode 21. For starters, the characters could be immersed within the world of ballet! Beyond that, there’s a chance to see Lucifer continue his war against Marcus Pierce in virtually whatever way that he can.
One of the things that we love about this episode without even getting into the storyline is the title: “Anything Pierce Can Do I Can Do Better.” Beyond just that, there’s also some more scoop in the synopsis CarterMatt has for you below that could very well make your head explode:
When a prima ballerina is brutally murdered, Lucifer helps Chloe solve the case and attempts to keep her focus away from Pierce. Amenadiel begs Charlotte to help him with an important plan, and Maze remains devoted to a task from which Pierce asked her to back away. Then, Chloe confronts Lucifer about his meddling in her life, but as he’s about to make a huge confession, he finds out something that changes everything in the all-new “Anything Pierce Can Do I Can Do Better” episode of LUCIFER airing Monday, April 23 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (L-317)
Will Lucifer finally take advantage of the opportunity to reveal the truth to Chloe in this episode? It seems as though it’s possible … or at least it was before something else got in the way. Part of the fun will be seeing if he finds a way to circle back to this. As much as we’ve loved the current dynamic between the devil and the detective, it feels like high time to try something a little bit new and different. Having a confession come into play dramatically changes the show, and at this point that could unlock some other great opportunities for storytelling in season 4 … provided that one happens. How can there not be one? That’s really up to the powers-that-be over at Fox, but it feels like much of the collective fan base would be in riot mode if it doesn’t happen.
What else is worth getting excited about in this episode?
A few different things! For starters, we’re interested to see just what’s going to happen next with Amenadiel and Charlotte now that they’re starting to establish more of what they mean to each other. As for Maze, we know that she was strongly considering an offer to work with Pierce at the end of this past episode that could lead to her return to hell. She obviously wants that to happen, but at what cost? Exploring the negotiations of what he wants and how she’s involved in getting it will be one of the most interesting factors at play, provided that she accepts his offer in the first place.
