Big Brother Canada 6: Was Merron Haile or Ryan Ballantine evicted?

Thursday night’s new episode of Big Brother Canada featured one of the more interesting evictions of the season, mostly because it featured two players who were somewhat under-the-radar by nature. Neither Merron Haile nor Ryan Ballantine has done much as of yet in order to win this game; yet, one of them is probably going to make it pretty far in the game given that after this, why would someone waste a Head of Household on yet another floater? That’s just not something that makes a whole lot of sense when you think for a minute about what we’ve seen from the show over the years.

Unfortunately, on the live feeds we ended up getting a pretty good sense of the vote and then some: Merron was so convinced that he was gone home that he didn’t even bother to follow the have-not rules anymore. He ate normal food on a number of different occasions.

The final vote here was 5-3 to send Merron home; he can at least take some solace in knowing that this was not a unanimous decision. As for some of the people who are in the minority we’re not too worried as of yet — we don’t think there’s too many stable alliances this season and beyond that, anyone can still win Head of Household other than Erica. (Big surprise of the night — apparently, Ryan has lost a ton of weight this season!)

The three people who voted to evict Ryan were Ali, Derek, and Kaela — consider them the temporary minority for the time being.

One of the best part of Merron’s game? Him telling everyone that he was “Canada’s boy” on the way out … which should cause a lot of paranoia.

As for tonight’s episode overall, we do think that there were some entertaining moments — for example, Ryan stirring up drama with the whole Ali – Paras drama in terms of what Ali supposedly said. Meanwhile, there is always something that we enjoy for some stupid reason about getting to see the houseguests watching themselves — it’s one of the few moments during the season where they can just turn that part of their brain off and really enjoy themselves.
