Crazy Ex-Girlfriend will end with season 4, Rachel Bloom confirms

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend season 4

Even before today’s renewal, word on the street was that Crazy Ex-Girlfriend would be ending with season 4. Some of the folks behind the scenes at the show had also expressed that.

Now, the news is as confirmed as it’s going to be save for The CW coming out and saying it outright. Following the news of the renewal (which you can read more about over here), series star Rachel Bloom posted on Twitter that this will, in fact, be the final season of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend coming up. From the beginning there was a plan for the series to go for four years, and we do wonder if offering up that closure is one of the reasons why the network went ahead with the renewal. This allows the series to end on its own terms and that, in turn, gives The CW more of a reputation as a network that likes to cultivate fitting ends to some of their programs.

Now, one of the other questions that remains is whether or not Jane the Virgin season 5 is also going to be the final season for it. That is something that Gina Rodriguez has suggested in the past, and we certainly could also see that happening. While neither one of these shows was a ratings titan during their run, they each did a very good job building and establishing a loyal audience. To go along with that, they were critically acclaimed and we’re absolutely sure that this is something that The has enjoyed having for as long as they have.

The schedules for all of these upcoming shows should be revealed by the time we get to upfronts in May. Following that, we should get more specifics on premiere dates over the summer.
