Supernatural season 13 episode 17 preview: What’s coming after Scooby-Doo event?

Supernatural season 13 episode 17

We have a lot of sympathy for Supernatural season 13 episode 17 in advance of it airing for a number of different reasons, with the biggest one being simply that it’s coming after what is one of the most-anticipated installments of the series ever. The CW and Warner Bros. have done a pretty remarkable job of getting the word out there about the “Scoobynatural” crossover event, which is exciting for so many reasons including the idea that this could bring in new viewers!

Yet, on the other side of it the show must go on and that is something that the series has to figure out on episode 17 which is titled “The Thing” — This of course leads us to think mostly about the horror movie than almost anything else. The synopsis does give you a pretty good sense of what’s coming, which includes exploring the past of the Men of Letters (feels about time to move back into that) alongside getting a chance to actually see more of Richard Speight Jr. as Gabriel. Much like the Men of Letters, isn’t it great to have Gabriel be a part of the story again?

For a little bit more news, including the main challenge at the heart of this episode, be sure to check out the official synopsis that CarterMatt has for you below:

“TRUST NO ONE – Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) continue to collect the pieces necessary to open a rift to the other world in order to save their family. Their latest quest leads them to a Men of Letters bunker from the 1920s and a hungry God from another dimension. Meanwhile, Ketch (guest star David Hayden-Jones) makes a shocking decision about Gabriel (guest star Richard Speight Jr.) after an unruly encounter with Asmodeus (guest star Jeffrey Vincent Parise). John Showalter directed the episode written by Davy Perez (#1317). Original airdate 4/5/2018.”

As we do progress a little bit further into this episode there are a few more things worth noting, including first and foremost that we are eventually going to meet a new character played by Jensen Ackles. Even if they do not coming during this episode, it does feel very much like this is a part of the story that you definitely need to have on the radar.
