TV Madness 2018 finale: The Brave, Timeless face off!
Above, you can see our full bracket, complete with entries, their seeds, and start/end dates. Once you are within the bracket, the dates listed are when the previous poll ends and the next one begins! We’ve had such a great group of shows taking part this year, with some newbies as well as others who have been a part of the tournament every single year. The voting rules are pretty simple — you can vote however often you would like on however many devices that you would like! If you are on mobile and you are having a problem seeing the poll at the bottom of the article, be sure to click to view the non-AMP version of the page — that link should be located at the very bottom.
What an incredible journey we have been on to get to this point! We’ve seen surprises, tens of thousands of votes, close matches, blowouts, and just about everything in between. In the end, we are left with two shows in The Brave and Timeless that are both more than deserving of making it to this final round.
There’s a lot to discuss here so, without further ado, let’s get to breaking down these entries further. Voting for the finale remains open until Sunday, April 1 at 1:00 p.m. Pacific time. Not too long after that, we will officially announce the winner!
The Brave (#7 seed) – There are so many things that are incredibly impressive about The Brave making it to the finale, whether it be its status as an NBC bubble show in its first season to its victories over contenders like Vikings, Shadowhunters, and The Blacklist which all have huge fanbases. The top story here though, has to be the victory over Outlander in one of the biggest comeback performances in CarterMatt history (Outlander won our first two years of this contest). This was also the most votes we’ve ever had in a TV Madness showdown and that wasn’t an easy number to top. What The Brave showed in that battle was tenacity, passion, a genuine love for the show and a hope to see it return.
Timeless (#2 seed) – What’s so interesting about this finale is that we’ve compared the situations of the two shows in the past. Both are series that aired on Monday nights in the first season, and when it comes to Timeless it’s fans were able to channel its passion towards getting their show back on the air very shortly after it was announced that it was canceled. Clockblockers are an incredibly passionate group of voters so we expect this to be a very tight race all the way to the finish line. What’s notable about Timeless in this tournament is that it has consistently faced tough competition from one week to the next. Good Behavior, Scorpion, Poldark, and then Absentia all proved to be difficult shows to beat, but through thousands upon thousands of votes, the NBC drama starring Abigail Spencer managed to make it to the finale.
