Chicago Fire season 6 spoilers: New firefighter Cordova may have some problems

Chicago Fire

There are a number of interesting things coming up on Chicago Fire season 6 in the aftermath of the two-part story last week, and one of the biggest ones is the arrival of new firefighter Cordova (Damon Dayoub). This character is joining the series as a replacement following Otis’ injury; it remains unclear as to whether or not he will ever be a firefighter in the same way again, and for now this newcomer could take on some of his duties and also bring a new energy to the firehouse than ever before.

As executive producer Derek Haas told CarterMatt recently, Cordova does bring an interesting power and physicality to the show that it hasn’t quite had before — but there are also going to be some problems with him around. This is made clear by what’s coming specifically on the 19th episode of the season entitled “Where I Want to Be,” which airs on April 19. Per the official NBC synopsis below, there is going to be suspicion that Cordova is taking money from a crime scene:

04/19/2018 (10:00PM – 11:00PM) (Thursday) : After responding to a residential fire at a property belonging to a Mexican drug cartel, Casey is skeptical of Cordova (guest star Damon Dayoub) after a hefty amount of money was found missing from the crime scene. Elsewhere, Kidd makes a big decision.

Unfortunately, new members of Firehouse 51 are not always what they are cracked up to be. Remember here that with Hope earlier this year, she proved herself to be very much opportunistic in her own right. Every now and then you do get a new character like Stella Kidd who comes in and makes the firehouse better; however, the majority of the newcomers just aren’t what they are cracked up to be. It’s still too early with Cordova so it’s probably not right to paint him too thick with any one brush. After all, it’s possible that he did not steal any money at all and is only being judged this way because he is an unknown entity in the firehouse.
