Black Lightning episode 11 preview: Protecting Jefferson’s identity

Black Lightning

What is coming on Black Lightning episode 11? This episode should help to set the stage for the finale and, beyond that, it also is going to revolve around a very important question: Is there going to be a way in which Jefferson’s identity can be protected? The rumors about him being Black Lightning are spreading, and with that he is going to find him arrested. All of a sudden, it’s going to be the responsibility of some of the show’s other heroes in order to ensure that he can wander the streets again — while also fighting a little bit of crime in the process.

Below, the attached Black Lightning synopsis does a pretty good job of giving you some additional insight as to just what is coming up on the series:

AND JUSTICE FOR ALL – As suspicions grow that Jefferson Pierce (Cress Williams) is Black Lightning, the ASA arranges to have him arrested.  Lynn (Christine Adams) seeks help from Detective Henderson (Damon Gupton).  Meanwhile, as Jefferson is in custody, Gambi (James Remar) and Anissa (Nafessa Williams) work together to show Black Lightning is still running around the streets of Freeland.  China Anne McClain and Marvin Jones III also star.  The episode was written by Melora Rivera and directed by Michael Schultz (#111).  Original airdate 4/3/2018.

We do think that the main story of this episode does follow a pretty common trope: The hero being questioned over their alter ego. That is something that is actually happening right now on Arrow and has, at least to a certain extent, on Supergirl. Luckily, most of the people on Legends of Tomorrow don’t really have to worry about that given that so many of them are presumed dead in the first place.

What will make this episode stand out is rather simple: The style of the writing and the performances of the actors. With the right voice, just about anything can come across as unique.
