NCIS season 15 episode 19 preview: ‘The Numerical Limit’

“The Numerical Limit” – Gibbs is granted protective custody of a 10-year-old orphaned refugee, Elena (Lily Rose Silver), when an NCIS case reveals she is the target of a violent gang, on NCIS, Tuesday, April 3 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
Why is someone trying to target a ten-year old girl? That is obviously one of the easiest questions to wonder about when it comes to this episode. There is obviously something deeper going on here and it could leave Gibbs in a delicate position. Given that he is a pretty public figure, it’s probably not going to be altogether difficult for some people within the world of the show to target him in some capacity.
Yet, we are also excited for the opportunity to see Gibbs as a little bit more of a father figure directly to a young kid, someone who needs care and encouragement on some level even if she doesn’t show it. Whether it be consciously or unconsciously, we also do wonder whether or not there are going to be some echoes here of the time in which Gibbs was a father. The tragedy that is in his past both defines him as a character and shows the emotional weight that hangs over him on a regular basis.
