MacGyver season 2 episode 18 video: Riley, an airplane, and a battle for survival

Friday night’s MacGyver season 2 episode 18 is entitled “Riley + Airplane,” and it wasn’t until now that we really started to understand why. This installment is going to feature Tristin Mays’ character in a place that we haven’t quite seen her before, one where some of her skills are put to the test and if she makes a wrong move, she in turn could end up causing the deaths of almost everyone around her.

When it comes strictly to the setting of this particular episode, you have seen some situations like this before where characters are placed onto an airplane and forced to rely on some of their skills in order to figure out how to help themselves and others. Yet, with MacGyver it’s clear almost from the get-go that there are going to be a number of key differences. For starters, Riley is the sort of character who uses computers in order to save lives and she may be forced to rely on her hacking ability in order to save the day. That would be rather difficult if she was at home, let alone trying to do it more than 30,000 feet in the air knowing full well that there are a number of other people all relying on you in some shape or form.

Beyond just Riley’s storyline in the air this week be prepared for the return of the Coltons! These characters were fantastic during their original foray onto the show and we do come now bearing the knowledge that they are going to be back again in some capacity. They could be either friends or foes to the Phoenix Foundation depending on the endgame; they could work together for a time, but at the same time it feels clear that the priorities are going to be different when the dust settles.
