Finale Forecast: On The Big Bang Theory season 11, the wedding, and more

The Big Bang Theory season 11 episode 2

What is going to be coming up on The Big Bang Theory season 11 finale? That is the focus of today’s Finale Forecast, there is a lot of interesting stuff to discuss at the moment when it comes to the CBS show.

For example, we do have a wedding to discuss. The wedding of Sheldon and Amy has basically been confirmed now as the season finale story, and there is a lot of content that is going to be stuffed within however long this episode ends up being. For example, we are going to have an opportunity to see for the first time Sheldon’s brother Georgie as an adult. Jerry O’Connell has been cast in that role, which should be exciting since he should have some fun with it and is super high-energy. Laurie Metcalf will also be back as his mother.

As great as Sheldon is on the show, however, we don’t want to necessarily see the entire wedding become about him. We want this to also be an opportunity to learn more about Amy’s history, how she is feeling leading up to the wedding day, and if she is also having some sort of reservations in her own right. This is an opportunity to spotlight this character who has shown love and affection for Sheldon in a way very few other people have.

Take, for example, the characters of Amy’s parents. We don’t know a whole lot about them. We have seen Amy’s mother before via Skype, but it was a very brief appearance and we don’t get a great sense that she is altogether close with their daughter. Meanwhile, we know that Sheldon asked Amy’s father for permission to marry her, but we never actually saw him in the flesh. This would be a good opportunity to bring them into the show and some capacity, even if it’s for just a brief period of time. A good example of this would be how The Big Bang Theory used Judd Hirsch in the character of Leonard’s father.

As for some of the other rules on the show, there are some exciting possibilities when it comes to how people like Leonard and Penny react to the wedding, or how Raj is feeling given the fact that he will be at this point the only unmarried person within the main cast. To a certain extent that may make him freak him out a little bit. The series has done a better job as of late throwing that character into the dating pool and having him realize that everyone else is accelerating forward. That has led to him making some changes as well to himself.

Beyond all this, we really don’t need to see some sort of huge dramatic cliffhanger. Just let The Big Bang Theory have a fun, sweet wedding episode and they can touch on some other stories when it returns for season 12. That renewal is already in the bank.
