MasterChef Junior interview: Lindsay Hayes talks recent elimination

Lindsay Hayes

There is another new episode of MasterChef Junior airing on Fox Friday night, but before checking that out why not take a look at some more parting words via Lindsay Hayes? Lindsay made it all the way to Friday night’s new episode before being eliminated via the chicken-and-waffles challenge — it’s a pretty great honor just to make it onto the show, let alone being one of the young home cooks who made it into the top 22. She’s got a lot to be happy about.

Below, you can see a little bit of what Lindsay had to say about the judges and her experiences on the show overall.

CarterMatt – What made you want to be a part of this competition in the first place?

Lindsay – I wanted to join the competition because I wanted to show that I’m not just some little girl and that I actually know my way around the kitchen.

What did you learn the most during your time in there?

I learned how grateful I am and how making it to the top 22 is an amazing achievement

Was there a challenge you enjoyed being a part of the most?

I enjoyed the milkshake challenge.

Did the judges pass along any advice to you when you were sent home?

Gordon Ramsay taught us how to make a perfect filet mignon.

Do you want to make chicken and waffles more after doing it on the show?

No!

How is being a part of the show helping you achieve your dreams in life now?

It gave me more confidence.

Check out the new preview for Friday’s episode

On Friday night, the remaining young home cooks have the difficult task of trying to cook a lot of food pretty quickly for a wedding! This is no easy task; given that this is a wedding, there’s going to be a mad scramble in order to get all of the food done within a reasonable amount of time while also keeping it at a high quality. We’re talking here about lamb and other gourmet dishes here; this isn’t the sort of stuff most kids are used to eating, let alone cooking.
