This episode overall is probably going to be one defined by what the title character goes through, and also just how that impacts him emotionally. This is probably what Black Lightning actually does better than virtually any other show out there — it really takes a cold, hard look at some people through the lens of what they’ve gone through and, in turn, the impact that it has on them. Secrets often do come up, especially with someone like Jefferson with the past in which that he’s had. Expect a big episode for both Cress Williams as well as James Remar, who was a casting coup for the series the moment that he came on board. He’s the sort of quality character actor who can lift a person like Gambi to heights that he would not be able to reach otherwise.
