Timeless season 2 episode 5 teases run in with JFK, Lucy absent

Timeless season 2

NBC has released the synopsis for Timeless season 2 episode 5 and it promises a run in with JFK for Wyatt and Rufus. The young president will be taken on the adventure of a lifetime, check out more below:

Timeless 2×05 (“The Kennedy Curse”) details – “04/15/2018 (10:00PM – 11:00PM) (Sunday) : When a mission goes awry, Wyatt (Matt Lanter) and Rufus (Malcolm Barrett) are forced to bring a 17-year-old John F. Kennedy (guest star Grant Jordan) with them to the present. But while the Lifeboat is recharging for the return trip, Kennedy escapes from the bunker… into modern day San Francisco. Anxious to return the future president to history, the team must find a way to work together to rescue JFK and return him to the past before Rittenhouse assassinates him in 2018. TV-PG D, L, V”

This episode certainly has a more comical feel to it. However, we can also expect there to more serious moments given that Rittenhouse is still at large with their various agents hidden throughout history. This episode is also different because the team will be carrying out their mission in the present. Typically, the team travels back in history, however, when an event occurs that forces Wyatt and Rufus to bring young JFK to the present, we will get to see whether or not JFK venturing out into present day San Francisco has any affects. We will the young, soon-to-be president see something he isn’t suppose to? Or will Rittenhouse get hold of him before Wyatt and Rufus find him?

This also brings up the question of where is Lucy? Was she forced to stay behind in the 1930s? In episode 4, Wyatt, Rufus, and Lucy will be traveling to the Salem Witch Trials to save Benjamin Franklin’s mother from being killed, so maybe there is something in this episode that will indicate why Lucy does not return to the present with young JFK. Or perhaps Lucy will come face to face with her mother and Emma again and chooses to stay behind in order to try to convince her mother to switch sides? Both are very possible, but of course we will have to tune in to see what will occur.
