Hawaii Five-0 season 8 spoilers: Michelle Borth officially returning as Catherine
According to Entertainment Weekly (who also shared the first photo below), former series regular Borth is going to be appearing on the April 13 episode of the series. As for what brings Catherine back to Hawaii, she is going to be working alongside McGarrett and Jerry in order to find a uranium deposit that she believes to be located somewhere on an abandoned island. Do they find it? Well, that seems likely given that they eventually run into a suspected terrorist who has a plan to make some dirty bombs using the material.
While Borth has not been a series regular on the series in some time, she has still made sporadic appearances. She last turned up on the show in season 7 and, if renewed, we would hope to see her again in season 8. Regardless of what you feel about the romantic relationship she had with Steve she comes with a lot of history both with him and the show itself. We like to see Hawaii Five-0 really honoring its past and having her on board is a great way in which they can do that.
As for Steve’s current romantic life, it still does seem as though he is still dating Lynn even though it’s been over a year since the character appeared on the show. The same goes for Danny’s current girlfriend Melissa. Ultimately, Hawaii Five-0 is just not the sort of show that really focuses all that much on the romantic lives of some of its characters unless both characters are regulars and are seen on a regular basis. Our hope is that maybe this could be something touched on more in the finale — if Steve and Danny open the restaurant, wouldn’t their girlfriends both be there to offer up some sort of support?
