This Is Us season 3: Why we should see Rebecca and Miguel’s relationship

This Is Us season 2

As we all know This Is Us ended its second season with bang, but unfortunately we are going to have to wait until the fall in order to see more of our favorite family. The show has explored every relationship and every family individual to some degree, however the one relationship we haven’t explored as much as we would like is Miguel and Rebecca’s. We know that Miguel was there to support Rebecca as she raised three incoming college freshmen, but how did their friendship move into a romantic relationship?

We know fans love Rebecca and Jack and believe us, we do too and we will always cheer for them. However, we know that Miguel is in it for the long haul and he understands that deep down Rebecca’s heart will always belong to Jack. This characteristic of his prevents us from hating or disliking him. It makes us happy that Rebecca has someone to lean on, care for, and love for the rest of her life. Miguel brings Rebecca enough happiness that she is content in her life.

So moving into the next season we want the writers to give us some more background. Of course, we don’t want the whole story, but a little bit at a time would great and would keep up the suspense. For example, the series can start out by showing us Rebecca and Miguel’s life in the present in order to segway into the past. We have rarely seen them and their life so we want to understand their life in the present so that we can better understand the past. It helps to establish what’s going on.

Meanwhile, we also are looking to see how their relationship affects the Big Three. We know it wasn’t easy for them to see their mother with someone else, however, why is that dislike still there after all these years? Seeing moments like this can better help explain their relationship. In addition, it opens the door for more storytelling about parts of their lives we haven’t seen yet.

This Is Us is one of the greatest shows on television and we have no doubt the questions we have about their relationship will be answered in time and we know that it will be an emotional ride.
