Shadowhunters season 3 spoilers: Why we should fear Lilith

Lilith - Shadowhunters season 3

With the premiere of Shadowhunters season 3 coming so soon to Freeform there is a good bit to be excited about. Beyond that, there is also of course plenty to fear — especially when it comes to Lilith. This character is clearly the Big Bad of the season, and she’s someone who is going to be very hard to stop just because she has so much power and beyond that, so much influence. The longer that she stays around and the more dangerous she becomes, mostly because she is so influential and capable of bringing more people over to her side.

In speaking a little bit more about what’s coming with this character coming up, and precisely how much she should be feared, here is what star Katherine McNamara had to say to TVInsider:

We’ve seen greater demons. We’ve seen demons. We’ve seen evil Shadowhunters. We’ve seen a lot of things but what we haven’t seen yet is the Queen of Hell. She is literally the mother of all demons. If there’s a big bad to come this season, it’s Lilith, and she means business. If you think about it, we hurt the closest thing she has to a baby in Sebastian (Will Tudor). We’ve made her list, in other words.

The real thing that we find intriguing personally about Lilith is that this season could offer up a chance to see the trajectory of this villain in a way that we don’t often see. It’s comparable in some ways to Reign on Supergirl, who turned up in the premiere episode and you had a real chance to see that character evolve slowly over time. Lilith will start off with a cognizance and a power that Reign didn’t have, but it may still take her a certain degree of time in order to start to get accustomed to some of her surroundings.

We’ll see how Lilith’s journey goes, and how this character evolves, as Shadowhunters season 3 progresses further into its run.
