Supergirl season 3 finale date revealed; what could be next?
So what’s the date? Monday, June 18. The good news is that when Supergirl does return you’re likely going to get new episodes virtually every week until the series goes off the air. Beyond that, this means that there could be a shorter hiatus between the end of this season and the start of season 4 — provided that it happens. It feels like close to a sure thing but you never want to guarantee something before it actually comes to pass.
As for what we expect in general over this final stretch of episodes, we’re absolutely anticipating the series continuing to build up some momentum leading up to the face-off with Reign. This could mean, in part, showing off more of Purity while also working to introduce Pestilence, someone who should end up being the third Worldkiller. With these three villains together, they are going to be extremely difficult to stop.
Aside from all of that, it’s also going to be important to figure out whether or not Mon-El is going to stay in this timeline or go back to the one in which he lived in for years following what happened to him at the end of season 2. Saturn Girl already revealed that there is another reason why they are in this timeline at the moment that he isn’t quite sure of and that could be a jumping-off point to a lot of other story. Also, we want to see what is going to transpire with Alex Danvers — it’d be great to get another Maggie appearance in there before the finale but we don’t want to offer any false hope, either.
