The Ranch season 3 lands Dax Shepard in key role
Per a report coming in right now via Deadline, Shepard is going to recur throughout the second half of the upcoming season as a former soldier named Luke Matthews who will be arriving with some history revolving around the Iron River Ranch. He’s someone with somewhat of a dodgy past that could come back, but he does seem to have a pretty strong bond with both Colt as well as his father Beau.
You will likely see more of Shepard when the second half of season 3 (otherwise known as “Part 6”) premieres a little bit later this year. He is coming on board after Masterson was written off the series following accusations of sexual assault. Masterson will appear in some capacity on the first half of season 3 and it is not altogether clear how the producers plan on taking that character out of the equation. The Ranch itself remains one of Netflix’s more-popular series in the comedy space, in part because of Kutcher’s star power and also because its premise is fairly relatable to a number of different viewers out there who great up with more of a blue-collar upbringing.
It’s probably too early to say whether or not Shepard’s appearances on the series are going to be successful but we do know this: It is a cause for excitement to have him on the series to begin with. He brings a lot of energy and excitement to almost any role that he does.
