Jane the Virgin season 4 episode 14 is going to be a story about a number of different things, but above all else it is a story about dealing with a life-altering decision. Xo, as you know if you are reading this article, has cancer. With that, she is facing a life-altering and terrifying decision. She has loved ones at her side while she’s doing it, but that doesn’t ultimately make things any easier.

IT’S YOUR CHOICE – Xo (Adnrea Navedo) struggles to make an important decision and looks to Jane (Gina Rodriguez) for guidance leaving Rogelio (Jaime Camil) feeling like an outsider. Alba (Ivonne Coll) is frustrated with Rogelio when it seems he is once again making his career a priority over Xo. Meanwhile, Petra (Yael Grobglas) turns to Rafael (Justin Baldoni) for advice on her love life. Justin Baldoni directed the episode written by Valentina Garza & Micah Schraft (#414). Original airdate 3/23/2018.

This episode is going to be emotional, heartfelt, and above all important to taking on a true-life situation in a way that feels both true to the show and also heartfelt. With Jane the Virgin we would admittedly not expect anything less. This is something that the show excels at whenever it does delve into serious topics, and this is what makes it one of the most important, relevant series on the air today.

Hopefully, this is a storyline that we can see a little bit of closure on before the end of the season, and not in a tragic way. Jane already lost Michael; does she really need to lose someone else important to her life in the second straight season?
