Chicago Fire season 6 spoilers: Be prepared to meet Cruz’s ex

Already on Chicago Fire season 6 we’ve had an opportunity to see some of Cruz’s romantic past impact his present. To be specific here, we are talking about it in the form of Sylvie Brett. While it doesn’t appear as though the two have a romantic future that is going to be playing out on the show again, there was a time in which Joe was seriously considering it and having those feelings come back. There’s nothing wrong with that on its own; as a matter of fact, it’s actually somewhat natural when you consider that the two work together and live together. That’s a lot of time to be spending with one person and both Cruz and Brett are likable.

Now that Cruz is ready to try and move forward, though, it does appear as though someone else from his past — someone who he hasn’t stayed as close to as Brett — could be coming back into his live.

According to a report from TVLine, the NBC series is in the process of casting Cruz’s former high school sweetheart, someone who is now single and could make a re-entry into his life. While there may not be too much in the way of news out there about this character right now, that may change over the next few weeks. We definitely want to see Joe happy, just as we want to see Brett and every other member of Firehouse 51 happy.
