The 100 season 5 trailer arrives with action, awesomeness galore

The 100 season 5 trailer

Leading up to its premiere on Tuesday, April 24 on The CW, The 100 season 5 trailer is here — and it’s all sorts of awesome. At the center of this video is everything from peace to family to war to bloodshed. It’s one of the longest trailers The CW has put out beyond pilot season, and we absolutely think that it’s one that you are going to watch over and over again just because of how much content is crammed into it.

Let’s start with the basic facts here — six years have passed since the end of season 4, and within that span of time the entire world has fundamentally changed. Clarke is inhabiting one of the last livable parts of the world and made it into her own little dominion. She finds herself in the role of protector, and is wondering if someday Bellamy and others will find their way back. We do think that many of them would like to, but this trailer quickly reveals that there are other problems they have to face.

Monsters appear to be one of the major themes of this season and there’s a number of clear reminders here that monsters are not just limited to creatures beyond men. Humans can be easily corrupted and they are very much capable of inflicting a great deal of chaos. Expect to see them very much involved in some of the turmoil this season. Eventually, there will be happy reunions and some wonderful moments, but if there’s one thing we’ve learned about The 100 through four seasons it’s that wonderful moments are often short-lived. At one point or another, there is a tendency for things to slowly descend into chaos.
