Wynonna Earp season 3 spoilers: Zoie Palmer of Dark Matter, Lost Girl to guest

Zoie Palmer

For those of you who had predicted Zoie Palmer to be guest-starring on Wynonna Earp season 3, we come bearing some great news!

As first confirmed by Syfy itself, the former Dark Matter and Lost Girl star will be turning in a guest-starring appearance on Wynonna Earp as Jolene, a character described as “a fun-loving friend who enjoys karaoke, baking for her best buddies and creating mayhem wherever she goes. She’s also smart, knows a secret or two and if you don’t watch out, she’ll either steal your partner or your heart.” This is a reunion for Palmer and showrunner Emily Andras, who worked together previously on Lost Girl before the start of this series.

Obviously, this is exciting casting news without even knowing too much in terms of the finer details about the role. For example, the jury’s still out on just who Jolene is a friend to or what her ultimate motivation is. She may come across as fun and kind on the surface, but maybe some of her reckless actions turn out to be a little more malicious than you would first think. One of the fun things about Wynonna Earp in general is that many of its characters are so much more than just one thing — they are often tough but vulnerable, knowledgeable in saving the world but still susceptible to a surprise here and there. Palmer will be an excellent addition to the team no matter how long she sticks around.

Palmer is the second significant guest-casting we’ve heard about for the third season, as former Reign star Megan Follows has already been cast in the role of Wynonna’s mother. That looks to be a recurring role throughout the third season. There is no defined Wynonna Earp season 3 premiere date as of yet, but all signs do point towards the series coming back on the air a little bit later in the year.
