The Flash season 4: Mystery Girl’s identity may still be a surprise

mystery girl's identity

The Mystery Girl’s identity on The Flash season 4 remains one of the show’s greatest mysteries — we’ve see the character (played by Jessica Parker Kennedy) on a few occasions, but to date the only things that we know for sure is that she has some connection to Barry and Iris, she understands some of the same strange symbols we saw from Barry at the start of the season, and it seems like she’s intentionally trying to meet certain characters at specific time.

With that in mind, are we going to have a chance to actually learn who the character really is in the near future? We hope so, but it does seem as though some of the theories out there about her (with the prevailing one being Dawn Allen) may not be altogether true.

In speaking in a new interview per TVLine, executive producer Todd Helbing had the following to say on the subject of some of the theories that are out there regarding this particular character:

“Every year, there are theories all over the place about what we’re doing … Some of them get pretty close, some of them hit, like, one part of it, but they don’t get the other parts … I don’t think anybody ever is going to guess exactly what it is.”

We understand that most people out there probably want this character to be Dawn Allen and we get that — we want to have tangible evidence that Barry and Iris are together and happy years into the future! However, at the time there is something fascinating that comes along with the idea that this character is actually someone sinister and is posing as Dawn Allen or someone else innocent to get close to everyone. It would be an interesting way to introduce a villain for down the road … especially since she is clearly very different in personality from any other that we’ve had a chance to see so far. It’d also be a change of pace from DeVoe, who is clearly getting more terrifying with each passing iteration.
