Prison Break season 6 episode 1 script complete; what does this mean?
In a post on Twitter executive producer Paul Schuering confirmed the aforementioned news, though this is far from 100% confirmation that a sixth season is happening. Fox confirmed earlier this year that they were developing another season, which is something hinted at further by star Dominic Purcell late last year.
Basically, this news is just a sign that development is going along smoothly — getting a script done should be another way in which to entire the network to offer up a little more Prison Break at some point coming up in the near future. We absolutely would like to see it but there are still some things that need to be done to get us from point A to point B.
For starters, we do still have questions about getting the entire cast together. For starters, Purcell is really only available for a handful of months in the spring due to his commitments to Legends of Tomorrow — meanwhile, there are other cast members who have had some other commitments, as well. There is also the matter of where Fox would air it, how many episodes it would be, and just how big a demand there is for the series as a whole. The ratings for Prison Break season 5 were not exactly enormous, and the primary selling point for the series seemed to mostly just be the international appeal for the franchise and some of the characters. This series probably does perform best as a midseason replacement since it can tell a story straight through without any breaks along the way.
Once there is a little more insight regarding the future of the series, we will have some of that for you.
