Bachelorette start filming

When will The Bachelorette start filming its upcoming season with Becca Kufrin in the leading role? Let’s just say that you better prepare for a pretty quick turnaround.

A few short days removed from the end of the recent After the Final Rose where Becca was announced as the new lead, production is expected to begin at some point over the coming days. This is a trend that we often see with The Bachelorette, largely because there is a pretty quick window in which to turn around the series. Filming has to start shortly after the After the Final Rose because the series tends to premiere in late May and it typically takes around a couple of months to film an entire season, especially because of all of the travel and everything else that is done along the way. For Becca, the timeline is already a little bit crazier than it is for most other people. She’s coming onto this show only a couple of months removed from the end of her engagement to Arie Luyendyk Jr., but she did seem to be enthusiastic and ready to find love at the end of The Bachelor this past season.

We suppose that technically, this season of the show has already started because Becca has already had a chance to meet some of her men. As a way to potentially lighten the mood at the end of the super-dramatic Bachelor finale, Chris Harrison and production brought out a few of the guys — everyone seems to be rooting for the dude with the banjo, but just remember that first impressions that last for a few minutes don’t mean much. Remember that nobody loved Dean at first, then they liked him during Rachel’s season, then they hated him during Bachelor in Paradise, and then they somewhat-liked him again on Bachelor Winter Games.

There will probably be a few teases of The Bachelorette that happen during filming and we may get glimpses of a few more of the guys.

Side note: One thing that we wish the show would introduce in their contracts for cast members moving forward is a moratorium on doing Instagram ads for a specific period of time after filming, mostly because A) that would stop people going on the show just to hawk products and B) it would keep people from assuming that they are just there to hawk products. Maybe we’ll talk about this more in the future.
