The voting rules are pretty simple — you can vote however often you would like on however many devices that you would like! In today’s edition we have a particularly interesting showdown between two shows in Hawaii Five-0 and Wynonna Earp who each have potential to make it pretty far. In the case of the former, you’ve got a fairly stable competitor on CarterMatt and a show that advanced fairly far into the tournament last year. Meanwhile, with the other you have a first-time entrant but also a show with some of the most devoted fans out there. Even though there is clearly an underdog between the two, anything can happen once the voting officially begins!
With that, let’s get to breaking down these entries further. Voting for this round remains open until Sunday, March 18 at 1:00 p.m. Pacific time.
Hawaii Five-0 (#1 seed) – Its success both in TV Madness 2017 and other polls in the past have enabled it to be a top seed this year; beyond just that, though, Hawaii Five-0 deserves an immense amount of praise. Despite having a good bit of cast turnover following the exits of Daniel Dae Kim and Grace Park, Hawaii Five-0 has managed to keep itself one of the strongest and most-compelling series on television. It is doing a number of interesting things and we’re interested in seeing if this continues now moving into the end of this season and potentially season 9.
Wynonna Earp (#8 seed) – As someone who really started to check out the show last year, it was impressive seeing just how much action, humor, and passion was put into almost every episode. It’s a show that makes you feel a full gamut of emotions and when it comes to genre and style, it’s of a rare breed. We’ve gotten to see the passion of Earpers on a few occasions already, so with the Syfy series in the tournament this year you have to believe there is a reasonably-good chance that the series could pull off some sort of epic upset.
