Legends of Tomorrow season 3 episode 16: Is this Ava’s secret?

Legends of Tomorrow season 3 episode 16 is airing on March 26 and, based on the early information that is out there, this is one that could start to hand down some key information on Ava’s secret … whatever it may be.

The whole notion of Ava having a secret first surfaced on this past episode as Rip Hunter told Gideon to eliminate any files on her past. It doesn’t actually seem as though this is a secret that Ava is even aware of, which raises a number of interesting possibilities. For example, it’s possible that the character is an anachronism, she’s from a different era, she’s got ties to Mallus, she is Mallus, or some other shocker that we haven’t quite thought of just yet. Some of these answers could be revealed on this aforementioned March 26 episode; the synopsis below offers you a little more evidence of that:

SEEING DOUBLE – When Ava (guest star Jes Macallan) disappears, Sara (Caity Lotz) and Ray (Brandon Routh) set out to find her after some prodding from Time Bureau agent Gary (guest star Adam Tsekhman) and a disturbing truth about Ava. Amaya (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) tasks Zari (Tala Ashe) with helping train Rory (Dominic Purcell) in controlling his own Totem power. Meanwhile, Nate (Nick Zano) and Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) set out on a mission that goes awry when they pair with an unlikely person to try and get a Totem. Dean Choe directed the episode written by Ray Utarnachitt & Daphne Miles (#316). Original airdate 3/26/2018.

The Ava story is obviously the main selling point for this episode, but we also do think that the idea of Rory having a totem power could be somewhat incredible. Is every member of the Legends going to have one of these by the end of the season, and do they combine them all to destroy Mallus? Are we watching effectively a revival of Captain Planet? It seems possible.

As this episode progresses onward we’re hoping that there are some big surprises that we get to see and that whatever Ava’s secret is doesn’t keep her from being around the Legends in the future. We don’t want this to just be a one-season gig for this character!
