Outlander notes: Convention news plus on-set / blooper teases

Watch the Outlander season 3 premiere

There are a number of little Outlander stories that we hadn’t had a chance to get to over the past several days; with that, we’re going to try and resolve some of that today!

Let’s kick off here with convention appearances, which are going to be happening on some level throughout the summer as the cast visits various parts of the world. The Land Con is one of the most-notable conventions, and it’s going to be taking place on June 30 and July 1 in Paris. If you’re in Paris, close to Paris, or can fly to Paris, it’s definitely one to consider! For more information, including some related to tickets, all you have to do is head over here.

The news that is breaking from this week is the addition of three more people to the roster: Sophie Skelton (Brianna), John Bell (Young Ian Murray), and Charlie Hiett (Captain Leonard). While it is somewhat difficult to get a ton of actors together in one place, one of the reasons why The Land Con is probably able to pull this off is because it is taking place so soon after the end of season 4 filming. Many of the actors may still be somewhat-centrally located and haven’t necessarily scattered to all corners of the world just yet.

There will certainly be plenty of traveling for the Outlander cast this summer — especially for Sam Heughan, given that he will be promoting his upcoming film The Spy Who Dumped Me.

Other teases

If you are in some parts of the world right now, the Outlander season 3 DVD set is currently out there in stores! With that, there are a number of different fun things to check out and that includes a new blooper reel. While we’re not going to spoil anything that is in there, just do a search for “#Outlander blooper” on Twitter to get a number of funny screen-grabs. For diehard fans, getting the blooper reel is almost well worth the price of admission in its own right.

Meanwhile, executive producer Matthew B. Roberts passed along a funny little #HeardOnSet message on Twitter earlier this week — it’s not so much in direct context to the season 4 story, but maybe it’s connected indirectly to something that happens.
