How to Get Away with Murder season 4 episode 14: Family feuds

Jimmy Smits

Thursday night’s new episode of How to Get Away with Murder promised many important answers to key questions, but the one revolving around Wes’ past had to be one of the most important. After all,  this episode poised to actually answer some important questions on the subject of Wes’ death.

The more that information surfaced on Wes, though, the more in turn Laurel was reminded as to just how messed-up her family truly was. As it turns out, her mother was so much more involved in what happened. She ended up calling Laurel’s father the moment that she realized that Wes was going to go to the police — basically putting some of the events in motions that led to him being killed.

Ultimately, though, none of this way the biggest shock of the hour. Instead, that is the big cliffhanger that is there surrounding a car accident in the closing minutes — one that may have taken Bonnie’s life. There wasn’t enough information on the show to 100% confirm that it was her, but the synopsis for the finale hinted about a surprising death — given that the show already took Alfred Enoch from us, losing Liza Weil definitely feels like a strong possibility, as well.

The only problem that we’ve got at the moment with much of this is simple: Going into the episode, there were many proclamations that we would learn who actually killed Wes … and we’re still not sure we’ve got all the info. Knowing that Laurel’s mom was involved is devastating but there’s still more to the story.

In general, though, it’s hard to think about that too much when you are staring right at the BIGGEST CLIFFHANGER OF THE ENTIRE SEASON. Not knowing for sure if Bonnie’s dead, or if she is a red herring, is going to stick in our craw for a while.
