The Walking Dead: Khary Payton chimes in on Lauren Cohan contract situation
One of the larger problems at the moment just seems to be this: An obvious dispute between the network, the studio, and Cohan over her pay. Reports are that she is seeking a raise closer to her co-stars Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus. There was confidence at one point that a deal would get done, but that was admittedly a little while ago and there’s no guarantee as of now that we will see anything worked out.
What is interesting to point out at present is simply this: Cohan getting the utmost support from one of her fellow colleagues in Khary Payton. In a new post over on Instagram, Payton made his message on the subject of Cohan’s status loud and clear. He wants to see her paid; meanwhile, so do we. What we don’t quite understand fully is this: The Walking Dead is one of the most profitable franchises in all of television. With that in mind, why wouldn’t the people over at AMC be a little more eager in order to get a deal done? Shouldn’t that just be top priority for them? It feels like it should.
