Roseanne season 10 trailer reminds you how little has changed

Roseanne season 10 trailer

Today, ABC has officially released the Roseanne season 10 trailer for the first time — which is really the first opportunity that we’ve had to actually see new footage from the series. This gives you a small sense of some of what the show was, but also what the show is — which really isn’t all that different.

In the opening minutes of the trailer below, you get a reminder that Dan is, in fact, not actually dead as it appeared he was during the previous series finale. The show unravels from there and gives you a lot of assorted silliness and hijinks. The big thing that ABC seems to be promoting here is that this is a family that “looks like us” and “acts like us.” Basically, they are trying to just make this as relatable as they possibly can to some viewers.

Will this experiment work? It might, given that there aren’t many other comedies out there that are quite like it and bring this particular point of view. There’s a market out there for a who will probably appreciate this. Ratings-wise, though, one thing feels pretty darn clear: Most of these revivals really aren’t pulling in enormous figures like they were back during their original run. We figure that this is probably going to be a trend that we see more of over the course of the weeks ahead.

The Roseanne revival officially starts on ABC come Tuesday, March 27 — it’s a fairly limited run, but there is a reasonably good chance that we’re going to be able to see more episodes depending on how the ratings are. It seems as though Roseanne is open to coming back for more. (It shouldn’t be a surprise that this trailer premiered on Oscar night — great cross-promotion.)
