Lucifer season 4: What does Tom Ellis want to see?

At the moment, Lucifer season 4 has not been officially ordered by Fox and with that, of course, comes some frustration on our end. After all, we want nothing more than to get more of our favorite devil on television in the near future! The network does technically have until May in order to figure out if they want to order more; for now, we remain a bit optimistic.

Even without a renewal, there’s nothing wrong with looking ahead and that is precisely what series star Tom Ellis is doing. Speaking per The Hollywood Reporter recently on the subject of what he would love to see in the event that a Lucifer season 4 happens, the actor passed along the following message:

“I love the show when it comes a bit darker … When the show explores the darkness of L.A. and L.A. nightlife, that coupled with the bright humor of the show, I think that’s when it really zings. So to take a few more chances on the darkness of the show next year would be quite fun.”

Personally, we do like to see that, but we also don’t mind it when the show goes the other way and just throws Lucifer, this dark character just in terms of his past alone, into situations that are silly and stuffed to the brim with pure comedy. There is just something endearing that comes from watching this character find himself in positions that are so foreign to him and play opposite some of his own sensibilities.

Really, though, so long as you throw Lucifer and Chloe into situations together where they can play off of each other, you are going to have a pretty great series in the end. That’s something that we’ve had a chance to learn from watching the show many times over.
