Call the Midwife season 7 episode 8 (finale): A birthday and a funeral
Below, the Call the Midwife season 7 episode 8 synopsis is going to offer up some more news as to what’s coming up:
The closing of a nearby maternity home brings an influx of expectant mothers onto the team’s books. Lucille meets Olive Mawson (Scarlett Alice Johnson), whose father Stanley Hodgkiss (David Bamber) has a secret he can no longer keep.
Meanwhile Sister Monica Joan (Judy Parfitt) celebrates her birthday.
Ho will this season of Call the Midwife end? While in America we do often see series conclude with some sort of epic, super-dramatic cliffhanger, we would honestly be surprised if there is something like that coming up here. This is more a show that is probably just going to wrap things up in a fairly-conclusive way, given that it’s going to be off the air until Christmas and we don’t think writer Heidi Thomas will want you worried about a character’s future for that long. Not only that, but the nature of the Christmas Special by and large dictates that there is going to be a massive time jump. Events that are happening now may very well fade into the wind by the time the next Christmas Special comes on the air.
The funeral
If you’ve watched tonight’s episode, then you know that Barbara is no longer with us. With that, be prepared to see this character laid to rest within this episode.
