Falling Water season 2 finale spoilers: The Shadowman interrogation

Before we get into discussing the Falling Water season 2 finale as a whole, it only makes sense to kick things off here with a discussion of sorts surrounding the episode’s title: “The Art of the Deal.” Obviously, there is some sort of political message there, even if it doesn’t apply to the story itself — that is the name of one of Donald Trump’s more-famous books (technically, it was written mostly by Tony Schwartz), and the implications there are vast.

Let’s not spend a lot of time on that, though, since there may be more pressing matters when it comes to the story of Falling Water itself — the synopsis, for starters, gives you an indicator as to what could be coming up:

Taka and Alex interrogate Shadowman. Tess learns of her mother’s history with Bennett’s buyer, Dr. Ginsburg. A stranger comes to Shadowman’s rescue. The team springs their trap.

Will the Falling Water season 2 finale offer up some sort of conclusion to the Shadowman story, and will this trap actually prove to be successful? These are two things that probably do deserve some sort of sense of finality within this episode, mostly due to the fact that we haven’t exactly had all that much of a sense of finality to date and we really need one. The odds are not extremely high that we’re going to get a season 3, after all — we hate to continuously beat on that drum, but the ratings just are not there. Luckily, there is still time for the series to wrap up most of its main stories and, in addition to that, at least offer up some sort of teases as to what could be coming up. The writers don’t need to tie up every loose end; after all, some of the best shows out there do opt still to leave something up to imagination.
