Lucifer season 3 spoilers: Lucifer, Pierce, and Chloe complications coming

Lucifer is a series with messy characters doing at times messy things — that’s in part what makes it so exciting! For a guy who has spent so much time in Hell, for example, you would think that Lucifer Morningstar would find a way to reveal more of his feelings for Chloe. Yet, opening up and being vulnerable is his kryptonite and it’s a part of what keeps the two apart.

Coming out of the prom dance at the end of this past episode, one in which we were convinced on at least two or three occasions that the two were about to kiss, you would want to think that things would keep progressing in that direction. Alas, that doesn’t seem to be happening. Prepare for a pretty significant speed bump to be coming in the form of Marcus Pierce. There were teases way back when that there could be something between this character and Chloe; now, it looks like we’re pretty darn close to that moment happening.

Speaking in a new interview with TVLine, executive producer Joe Henderson suggests that coming up things are going to start to heat up when it comes to Chloe and Marcus — and Lucifer himself may be in some way responsible for it! As for whether or not this was what he actually intended we’ll have to wait and see, but it’s going to be rather funny if Lucifer ended up damaging his own odds at this relationship because of something that he did unintentionally.

We’ll continue to root for Deckerstar really no matter what, but it still remains clear to us that the ball is in Lucifer’s court. It feels like the end of season 3 is the perfect time in which to explore this. By that time, we’ll have seen almost everything that there is to see when it comes to the story of these two in their present state. It will be time for a change to something new.
