When will Outlander season 4 wrap filming?

Want to know when Outlander season 4 is going to officially wrap up filming? You’re one of many! While there is no specific date that is out there for the conclusion of production as of right now, we do think that we are able to pinpoint a date at least in relative terms here.

Let’s begin with this: At the very least, filming for the Starz series is going to continue until we move along into the month of June. Earlier this week we reported about the casting call taking place in North Bay and Sudbury in Ontario, one that could allow First Nations men and women to travel over to Scotland as background artists. Whoever is selected needs to be available until at least June, so consider that a sign that for the second year in a row, filming will likely last around that long.

Meanwhile, CarterMatt has also shared the cast’s summer convention schedule, one that is set to include a stop in late June. Therefore, we would presume that filming will be over by then — typically actors do not conventions during filming unless they are 100% sure they are not working in that time. (Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe doing Emerald City Comic-Con last year is one example of how doing a convention can work in the midst of production.)

Last year, Outlander wrapped filming in the middle of June and it’s safe to say it will be a similar time-frame here. Even if filming was impacted somewhat by the snowstorms in Scotland this week, it’s hard to imagine there being an enormous impact that it has on filming overall.

If Outlander wraps in its typical time, that gives the cast some time for other pursuits — and it also will allow Heughan time to promote his new movie The Spy Who Dumped Me. Filming for Outlander season 5 could begin this fall, depending of course on both the timing of the renewal as well as when Starz is planning for it to air. It’s a little too early right now to draw the assumption that the filming schedule will remain the same.
