Following tonight’s emotionally-devastating premiere, what’s next on The Walking Dead season 8 episode 10? This may be one of the AMC series’ biggest challenges to date. Following up Carl’s death is no easy task.
While we anticipate that the series is still going to be dealing with the emotional reverberations of what transpires here with Carl for some time, moving into this upcoming episode there has to be an element of everyone trying to move forward. There has also be an element of sensitivity for many viewers. This may be the most upsetting death in the series’ history. With Glenn, the death was in the comics – still upsetting, but also expected. Here, it just doesn’t feel like it was as needed or as essential to where the story is going … or at least that’s how things seem at present.
CarterMatt has some of AMC’s first details on The Walking Dead season 8 episode 10 for you below:
Groups unite their forces and converge on the Hilltop; Aaron and Enid search for allies.
We’re not altogether sure that the right move after Carl’s death is to focus on one of the least-popular characters on the show in Enid, but she did have a close connection to Carl and we suppose that we understand the thinking from that vantage point alone.
If The Walking Dead is able to tell a great story within this installment, there’s a good chance that we will see viewers stick around to see the remainder of season 8. Otherwise, we do think that the odds are higher that this could be the point of no return for some viewers and The Walking Dead may have a difficult time getting some of these people back.
