Maisie Williams knows Game of Thrones series finale ending

Game of Thrones series finale ending

The Game of Thrones series finale is set to air on HBO at some point in 2019, and earlier this week Maisie Williams made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! while dropping some big news on him in the process: She actually knows how the series is going to formally conclude.

In speaking with Kimmel, Williams said that she read the series finale script for the series — but also noted that they are still many months away from being done with filming. She’s in the process of shooting off and on many of the final episodes, which are arduous and span a great deal of time. While she is fairly hesitant within this interview to reveal the premise episode count, all reports that are out there at present seem to indicate that there are going to be six installments coming on the air.

The one thing that we find especially fun about this interview is the simple fact that even Williams herself found some glee in knowing the ending — and apparently, so does her mom. While sharing scripts with other people is probably something that HBO frowns upon, she did share with her mother information on the final episodes. We can’t exactly say that we’re shocked about this, given that Maisie’s mom has really been along for the ride with this series just as much as she is. She wasn’t even a teenager at the time in which work on this show first began and now she’s a grown adult! Almost half of her life at this point has been encompassed by Game of Thrones in one form or another. That’s rather incredible to think about.

For those hoping that more information is going to come out in subsequent interviews about the final season that appears unlikely; Williams and everyone else in the cast likely knows at this point the sort of trouble that they would get in if they started to spell more details. With that, it’s better to remain coy. Also, it’s really just as Kimmel notes in that there’s a part of us that wants to know details about the final season; yet, at the same time there’s also a part of us all that really doesn’t want to know and would prefer to be surprised.
