911 season 1: The stories, and the schedule, ahead
Alas, there is, for the second straight week, no new episode coming on Fox. The reasoning for that is fairly simple: The Winter Olympics are still airing at the moment over on NBC and as a result of that, there’s little incentive for Fox to throw some episodes on the air. They know at this point that they’ve got a hit! 911 didn’t have the biggest marketing campaign in the world going into its first season but it’s shown itself to be a great performer for Fox. It has a strong cast led by Angela Bassett, Connie Britton, and Peter Krause — ultimately, what it’s showing beyond anything else is that if you’ve got great performers and a consistent story, that is really going to carry the day to the point that you don’t need to worry too much about anything else.
911 episode 7 is going to be airing on Fox on Wednesday, February 28, and if you are super-interested in getting some more information about that you can do so by heading over to the link here. There are still many more episodes to come, and they should at least take you until close to the end of March. Remember that 911 has already been renewed for a second season and we imagine that this batch of episodes will be more than 10 — Fox needs consistent performers and this format will probably play well across a longer batch of episodes.
Of course, we’ll have more news when it comes to the story as it starts to come out — we absolutely expect more worlds to collide and for there to be everything from action to romance to danger. For a quick tease, take a look at some of what you’re going to see on the March 7 episode, the eighth one to air this season:
What goes around comes around for an unremorseful widower, an arrogant fitness club owner and an unsuspecting thief. Meanwhile, Bobby gets a surprising phone call from his doctor after donating at Chimney’s blood drive, and Athena confronts Michael after having a heart-to-heart with their kids.
In case you are wondering…
The recent deal signed by show executive producer Ryan Murphy over at Netflix is going to have zero impact on the future of 911. He will continue to oversee the series and put trust in some of the people who are responsible for making 911 into a success.
