Outlander season 4 filming update; Caitriona Balfe’s acceptance speech
Production is continuing Tuesday within the Fife village of Culross in Scotland, a town that is currently hosting a number of big-name actors. We mentioned yesterday that Steven Cree (Ian Murray) is one of the actors working there; today, we’ll share another in Nell Hudson (Laoghaire). There are more spoilers out there on social media, but we don’t like to give too much away here story-wise. Still, there are some exciting things coming on season 4! Some of the stuff being filmed right now is material that many book fans have been expecting for some time. (See our first note about Culross filming over at the link here.)
There’s certainly been a lot of activity in Culross as word of filming has started to spread. Signs point towards more filming later this week, but we’ll keep you posted as we start to get some more news all about. If you’ve had a chance to be around production over the past two days, share some of your experiences in the comments!
Of course, remember that you’re going to have even more news regarding Outlander season 4 leading up to the show’s premiere on Starz this fall. Filming still has a rather long ways to go over the next few months in Scotland and potentially elsewhere.
Caitriona Balfe’s IFTA Awards acceptance speech
Here’s a highlight from last week that we hadn’t had an opportunity to see in video form before now. Caitriona was honored last week by IFTA for her work as Claire Fraser and she gives an incredibly gracious speech thanking the academy for the honor as well as her entire team around her and her fiance Tony McGill. (Credit to those listed in the embedded video.)
Hopefully, this award win will lead to some more great things for both Caitriona as well as Sam Heughan and the show itself in the future. If you haven’t seen our video yet discussion the series’ long-term renewal odds, be sure to check that out at the bottom of the article. We do think that there’s a reasonable shot for both Caitriona and Sam to get some more love this summer.
