Here and Now episode 3 preview; premiere ratings update

Here and Now episode 3

Want to see some of what is coming on Here and Now episode 3? Then you’re in luck! This upcoming episode is going to mark a chance to continue the story, and that includes a wide array of additional family drama.

If you look below, the Here and Now episode 3 synopsis gives you a sense as to some of what’s coming up:

Greg gets detoured in the wilderness on the way to an ethics convention; Audrey finds herself in the media crosshairs after a hate crime at school; haunted by a painful memory, Dr. Shokrani looks for unconventional help to get him through a wedding; Kristen’s crush on a predator comes to an end with a hand from Ashley; Duc reveals the secret to staying in control.

If this synopsis wasn’t an indicator, it absolutely seems like one of the goals this season is going to be trying to figure out how to be as topical and intellectual as possible. Here and Now is a series meant to be in one way relatable, yet at the same time worthy of some discussion after the fact.

As for whether that works, that’s entirely up to most viewers out there.

The state of the Here and Now premiere ratings

While this is only live+same-day linear viewers (i.e. those watching solely on HBO), we’d still say that Here and Now is off to a slower start. The premiere drew around 540,000 viewers, and the ratings this week are going to be a much larger indicator of some of the show’s possible long-term success. Typically shows do lose a little bit of viewership after the premiere; if that happens in this instance, it could prove troublesome for the long-term success of Here and Now.

As the season goes along, we’ll pop into some of these ratings updates with a little more information regarding what’s coming.
