Homeland season 7 episode 3 preview: Is Carrie in legal trouble?

Homeland season 7 episode 3

What’s coming on Homeland season 7 episode 3? In two words, more chaos. This is the sort of show that really lives and dies on this very thing; with that, we anticipate all sorts of drama coming in this episode. We’re at a point now in the season where some components are going to start to come together, and as a result of that, we don’t think that any character is safe from harsh consequences.

Are there some people safe from death? Sure. We don’t think that Homeland is killing off Carrie or Saul just a short period of time after offing Peter Quinn. There are some other twists and turns that should produce enough chaos to keep everyone out there entertained.

The Homeland season 7 episode 3 synopsis gives you a small tease of what’s coming — with emphasis on the word “small” since this is just what Showtime does:

Carrie has a distressing realization. Saul negotiates. Keane and Wellington disagree.

The promo at the bottom of the article offers up a little more information — it looks like Carrie could be getting arrested. Meanwhile, Saul’s attempt to bring in O’Keefe may have a deadly result.

The current state of Homeland season 7 ratings

Overall, the season 7 premiere this past week generated in total 1.22 million viewers, which is up slightly from the season 7 premiere but also down a little bit versus the season 6 average in the metric. We’d consider that to be a pretty big win for Showtime, given that the series last year didn’t have the challenge of having to air opposite the Winter Olympics.

Homeland already has a season 8 so in some ways, the ratings here don’t really matter all that much. We just want to see it stay reasonably solid on the basis of continuing to keep momentum — especially if there is a desire for a season 9 down the road.
