Endeavour season 5 episode 4 preview: A change at the top
The next feature-length installment is coming onto ITV in just seven days’ time, and judging from some of the information that is out there, this is going to be a very eventful episode where there is quite a bit going on in terms of action.

A photoshoot on an army base turns sinister when one of the models is found dead, and the investigation is complicated when Sam Thursday is revealed to be involved.
With Thursday side-lined by protocol, Endeavour and Strange take the lead on the investigation for the first time without their mentor. Tensions rise, and the pair clash as their differing opinions push their friendship to breaking point.
When another body is discovered on the base, Endeavour uncovers family secrets, political affiliations and thwarted love affairs to find the truth.
Across town, a racial protest outside a hairdresser’s turns violent, and reveals a surprising participant among its left-wing supporters.
Meanwhile, a new relationship and a new hobby give both Endeavour and Thursday hope for the future.
This premise actually is fairly familiar within the crime TV genre, as this is far from the first time we’ve seen a series do a case where one of the main characters ends up being accused of something that they may or may not have actually done. In turn, some of the entertainment here actually comes from just seeing how some of the other characters react to it and if there is a way for some of them to move forward on the other side of it. Hopefully, Thursday ends up being cleared and then things will be able to return to business as usual — or at least however much that term can be valid given this specific world. There’s always a surprise around every corner here, right? That seems to especially be the truth with Endeavour in this episode when it comes to his family.
